What a rad event the Whistler Ski & Snowboard Festival Fashion & Art Show: Fashion Exposed was this year. I walked the red carpet, sat front row, went backstage, interviewed We Are The City rockstar darlings (as seen in my last video blog below) and checked out the wicked Art Show that really could have been its own event, but teamed up with the big Fashion Show it really rocked the house. Then I hit another locals Art Show in Function Junction later on that night and caught some cool vibes from the other side of the tracks. A little Low Brow but still keepin it fresh Whister Style!!
All the Artists represented at this show were from all over the Whistler & Vancouver area and simply.. live the chill, but oh so stylie and inspired snowboard lifestyle which is evident in all the work you will see in this video. Most of the Art Work you’ll see here is better than most of the high brow ‘Art’ I’ve witnessed on the scene the last few years. More flavour and depth all around. See for yourself.
Sorry I might have been getting a little tipsy as the night progressed so I didn’t always get the most detailed shots of the work but I’m sure you will be inspired by what you see regardless. Much love you gorgeous thing you. Mwah!!
Fashion Exposed is my kind of fashion show because it fuses two of my loves = Fashion and Snowboard Culture. Whistler throws this fashion show once a year for the last 8 or 9 years now during the Ski & Snowboard Festival and its always a ton of fun. I even get behind the scenes footage and a short interview with ‘We Are The City and The Zolas’ Vancouver Darling Bands of the moment so be sure to watch it to the end!!
I’ve been working hard at putting together a fresh TV Channel on YouTube called AFashionistaSista Channel hosted by myself with content that I think is quality cool so please stay tuned and become a Subscriber on YouTube.
This year they focused also on putting together an AMAZING art show of local talent from Van City and Whistler so stay tuned for part two of this show which is all about the art. Some of the coolest Art I’ve seen in ages and even better than some of the high brow art I’ve seen at the last few art shows I’ve been to.
I was so honoured to have been a part of the Cinderella Project this year as a Fashion Stylist for some of the prom princess. Clutch Jewels also donated a fleet of pretty jewels to the cause this year as in years before. This special day is called Boutique Day. We made fabulous…
These Grads are from the Greater Vancouver area and have been identified as extraordinary kids that have overcome some tough challenges in their lives and have managed to graduate from high school. These kids deserve to have their own day in the sun especially on a day such as their prom so that is what we are doing here. Making these worthy grads feel like Princesses and Princes to celebrate their prom just like any other grad in prom worthy style.
Everything is donated including everyone’s time and energy but the reward is so great for everyone that work on the project. As cliche as it sounds I had a very rewarding day and I walked away feeling invigorated and fabulous. Good people making worthy grads fabulous and happy for prom! Congratulations to all the Grads of 2010 on behalf of myself and Clutch Jewels!!
Stay tuned for more fabulous Fashoinista Sista video adventures on Youtube or this blog. More fun episodes to come!!
